The project

The collection responded to football apparel’s growing influence within contemporary fashion, exploring how the visual language of vintage kits could be reinterpreted for a broader lifestyle audience. As sporting references moved beyond the pitch and into everyday wardrobes, the opportunity was to retain the authenticity and familiarity of classic football shirts while creating something relevant to the Urban Outfitters customer. Vintage-inspired numbering, athletic detailing, and bold colour blocking were combined with contemporary womenswear silhouettes, balancing sporting heritage with everyday wearability. The result was a distinctive visual language that felt rooted in football culture without being defined by traditional sportswear. Initially launched under the ‘Le Sport’ branding, the collection’s strong response led to its evolution under Urban Outfitters’ in-house label, iets frans…. The concept expanded across new colourways and silhouettes, becoming a core seasonal style and rolling out across the UK, Europe, and North America.
