The collection explored how nostalgia could create familiarity and emotional connection, reinterpreting the visual language of British coastal summers and 1990s yachtwear for a contemporary audience. The aim was to build a distinctive graphic identity that felt rooted in the past while remaining relevant to Wax and its customer today. Hand-painted watercolour, vintage-inspired typography, and a restrained colour palette established a cohesive visual language across the collection. Faded colour, expressive brushwork, and distressed finishes introduced the character and imperfection of well-worn garments, giving the graphics a sense of history and authenticity. Every element was considered in the context of the finished garment, with artwork developed specifically for screen print to preserve the tactile, handcrafted qualities of the original illustrations through to production.
